First Aid & CPR Training

First Aid & CPR Training is a crucial component of workplace safety, providing employees with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond effectively to medical emergencies. This course offers certification under HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid, and can be delivered with accreditation options from AOSH UK, EOSH, and other global safety bodies.

– CPR procedures and compressions
– Use and demonstration of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
– Legal responsibilities and duty of care
– Infection control techniques
– Managing choking and blocked airways
– Essentials of first aid kits
– Chest pain and cardiac events
– Asthma and respiratory emergencies
– Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis
– Treating shock and circulation issues
– Wounds and managing bleeding
– Burns and scald treatment
– Safety and risk management principles
– Fractures, sprains, strains, and dislocations
– Handling head, neck, and spinal injuries
– Eye trauma and injuries
– Illnesses from heat or cold exposure
– Poisoning and toxic exposure management
– Bites and stings from insects or animals
– Managing unconsciousness and recovery position

Prerequisites

  • Participants must inform the training team in advance of any language, literacy, numeracy, or physical difficulties.
  • A pre-course assessment is required before attending the face-to-face session.
  • All participants must demonstrate the ability to perform at least two minutes of uninterrupted CPR (five full cycles of compressions and breaths) on an adult manikin placed on the floor.

Certification

Participants who successfully complete both the theory and practical requirements will receive:

Certificates include a formal Statement of Attainment and a wallet-size certification card.

Recertification Requirements

In line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice, it is recommended that:

  • CPR training be renewed every 12 months
  • First Aid certification be renewed every 3 years
